Benue state Share of 2018 February FAAC: Promising Signs?


The Benue state share of the federal allocation for the month of February as released by the National Bureau of Statistics gives hope to the state government to be able to meet its obligation of paying the public workers their wages as due.

It will be recalled that the state government has conducted a series of screen to certified the actual number of workers on its pay roll at both the state and its 23 Local Government councils, it is yet to release any document to show the exact number before and after the screening exercise.

Between January and February this year, the State government has receive about N16.41bn, and apart from the regular payment of salaries, the government’s development drive is expected to get a boost as well.

Public workers in the state are still owed salaries of several months (7-12 months) brought forward from 2017.
