Governor Ortom may be wrong with the figures of Benue State revenue earned in 2017

Governor Samuel Ortom during his 2018 budget  presentation speech on the floor of the state House of Assembly in December of 2017 assert that the total revenue accrued to the state from all sources as at October 2017 was N59.92bn.

Governor Ortom went further to assert that the internally generated revenue earned for the state within the same period (Jan-Oct. 2017) was N5.9 billion.

Could it be that the governor was wrong with the figures? According to available data NBS published on state federal allocations and IGR for the year 2017 shows that the state earned more than the figures the governor presented on the floor of the state assembly.

So according to the records, what was earned between Jan – Oct. 2017 was N70.68bn from all revenue sources and not N59.92bn as assert by the Governor. As well as N9.79bn as IGR accrued between Jan-Sept. 2017 and not N5.9bn.

So, did Governor Ortom got it all wrong?
